🥖 3 Bread Board Combos You’ll Love

There is something quietly magical about bread on a board.

No fancy tricks.
No performance.
Just good bread, something spreadable, and people you care about.

If hosting feels intimidating right now, let me gently remind you:
If you can slice bread, you can host.

Here are 3 bread board combos you’ll love — perfect for soup night, impromptu drop-ins, or those evenings when you want dinner to feel special without doing the most.

🥖 1. The Cozy Classic
Comforting. Familiar. Always welcome.

• Warm sliced sourdough or a crusty boule
• Salted butter (softened — always softened)
• Flaky salt + cracked black pepper
• Optional: honey drizzle or a spoonful of jam

This one feels like home. It’s perfect when you want people to settle in and exhale.

🧈 2. The Butter Board Moment
Effortless, elevated, and a little bit romantic.

This is where my butter board recipe comes in — creamy butter swooped onto a board and finished with herbs, flaky salt, and whatever little extras make you happy. I did some finely diced shallots, chives, lemon zest, Maldon salt, red pepper flakes, and lots of black pepper.

Serve it with:
• Warm baguette slices
• Toasted sourdough
• Crackers for scooping

Or, serve it how I did... with a steak!

It looks fancy. It’s wildly simple. And it disappears every single time.

🍞 3. The Soup Night Sidekick
Built to dip, drag, and dunk.

• Thick-cut bread slices (toasted if you feel like it)
• Olive oil for dipping & Italian Bread Dip Spice Blend
• A little bowl of grated Parmesan
• Optional: roasted garlic or chili flakes

This board exists to support the soup — and trust me, it understands the assignment.

Sweetpea Hosting Truth:
Bread boards aren’t “lazy hosting.”
They’re kind hosting.

They say:
Come as you are. Sit down. Eat something warm.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to invite people over again — this is it.

Slice the bread. Light the candle. Set the board anyway.

With love,
Ashley 💕

You can change your life. Wild concept. Fully allowed.) The 2026 Sweetpea Content Plan is a...

And with that, the 2025 Season comes to a close... Tonight isn’t about fireworks or reinvention. It’s about pausing long enough to say:I made it through another year.I loved people.I was changed in small, quiet ways. And that is worth a toast. 🤍 Hospitality Hope You don’t have to reinvent yourself. Just keep gathering, growing, and glowing. You are not behind. You are not late. You don’t need a new version of yourself to be worthy of what’s coming. You just need to keep showing up with the...

This week is a strange and wonderful little pocket of time — when the holidays are winding down, leftovers are multiplying, and the new year is just close enough to feel. This is not the week to overthink dinner. This is the week to make it cozy, comforting, and flexible. For years, I used this little gap of time to plan my next year, do my Powersheets, and get ready. Now, I do alllll that planning and scheming in October and use this little breather week to read and rest. So, as we close out...
