There is something about back-to-school season that makes me want to buy a fresh notebook and completely reorganize my life. (Heck! I bought a whole new planner system that I've started to *think* about using!) And I don't even have children going back to school. π But every year, when I see the school supplies lining the aisles and hear my friends talking about first days, new teachers, lunchboxes, and earlier bedtimes, I get the itch to refresh my own routines. Not reinvent my entire life. Not suddenly become the woman who wakes up at 5 AM and has accomplished seventeen things before breakfast. Just ask myself: What would make my days feel a little easier right now? That's what I'm thinking about this week. August has been about Rest β’ Refinement β’ Alignment, and maybe this is the refinement part. We're keeping what works. We're adjusting what doesn't. And we're giving ourselves permission to start fresh simply because we feel like it. πΏ Host Yourself FirstThis week, choose one routine you'd like to refresh. Maybe it's your morning routine. Maybe it's getting dinner figured out before 5:47 PM. Maybe it's actually sitting down at your dining table to eat. Maybe it's laying out your clothes the night before. Maybe it's putting the kitchen to bed, so Morning You doesn't walk into last night's mess. Don't overhaul everything. Pick one little rhythm that would make Future You say: "Ohhhh, thank you." That's enough. π½οΈ This Week at the TableI'm craving dinners that feel like we're tiptoeing toward fall without pretending it's not still August outside. You know the ones. Something cozy... but not too cozy. Something comforting... but I'm certainly not simmering a pot of soup for six hours when it's still hot outside. This is the perfect week for a Dippy Dinner. Make some crispy chicken cutlets, toast up a little focaccia, pile crunchy lettuce onto a board, and add a couple of sauces for dipping. Dinner doesn't need a grand plan. Sometimes it just needs crispy + crunchy + dippy. And frankly, that's a meal plan I can get behind. I've been getting behind for the whole month, y'all! π A Little End-of-August AssignmentBefore September arrives, I want you to look around your home and ask: What has gotten a little out of rhythm this summer? No judgment attached. Summer is supposed to knock us out of our routines a little bit. But maybe the pantry needs straightening. Maybe your desk has become a dumping ground. Maybe your Sunday night routine disappeared somewhere around July 4th. Maybe you've stopped doing the tiny thing that used to make your mornings easier. Choose one. Reset it. Call it your own little Back-to-School Reset. New pencils optional. Although encouraged. βοΈ π€ This Week's BlessingMay you remember that starting again doesn't require starting over. May the routines you choose support the life you're actually livingβnot some imaginary version of yourself you're trying to keep up with. May there be something delicious waiting for you at the end of the day. And may Future You keep finding little gifts that Present You thoughtfully left behind. From my table to yours, |

I have a tiny challenge for you this weekend: Make it feel like something. Not an event. Not a dinner party requiring three grocery stores, seventeen serving platters, and a nervous breakdown. Just... something. A little marker between the workweek and the weekend that says: Oh! We're enjoying our life now. β¨ Sweetpea's Little Luxury Before the weekend arrives, pull out one of the good things. The cocktail napkins you've been saving. The little appetizer plates. The wine glasses you think are...
Happy Monday, Y'all! A version of you is coming home later this week, and she'll be so grateful for whatever you do for her today. And frankly? I think we should make her life easier. πΏ Host Yourself First This week, I want you to think about Future You. Not six-months-from-now Future You. I mean Thursday-at-5:47-PM Future You, hungry, tired, and staring into the refrigerator, hoping dinner magically appears. What can you do today that makes her evening easier? It doesnβt have to be a giant...
Cheers to Thursday, Sweet Friend! One of my favorite things about hosting is that it doesn't have to be reserved for birthdays or big celebrations. Sometimes all it takes is deciding that this Saturday deserves a really good steak. There's something wonderfully nostalgic about steak night at home. The music gets turned up a little louder, everyone gathers in the kitchen while dinner finishes, and somehow the evening always stretches a little longer than expected. That's exactly the feeling...
