🌸 Hosting for Two Is Still Hosting

Let me say this clearly:

Hosting doesn’t start with six people.
It starts the moment you decide to make space.

A dinner for two — or even one — still deserves:

  • a candle
  • a real plate
  • a moment of pause

One thing I've set out to do this year is "host" myself. I never set a table for me -- I'll wait until I'm having other people over to use my table. But why wouldn't I host myself first?! I'm worth it... Well, at least that's what L'Oréal said to me for years.

🕯️ A Few Hosting Essentials I Love

(These are the pieces I reach for again and again.)

  • Candles or taper holdersI really love these small, but hunky candles.
  • A go-to neutral tablecloth or runnerwhile this one says "frequently returned," I own it in three colors. I love it for my round table!
  • Everyday wine glasses you actually useI'm pretty picky about my wine glasses... I ordered some new ones from Anthro, and while an entire set arrived shattered, I really did not love them. I like a big swirl for my wine, and the Anthro ones are pretty, but not functional. (These are no longer available. I would link them for you!)

None of this is about perfection.
It’s about saying: this moment matters.

Dinner parties change the world — quietly, one table at a time.
