🚪 Open the Door Anyway.

All month, we’ve been talking about “Be the Invite.”

Not as a slogan.
Not as an aesthetic.
But as a decision.

You don’t wait until the outside projects are done.
You don’t wait until you feel more confident.
You don’t wait until your house looks like someone else’s.

You open the door anyway.

That’s Radical Hosting.

Not radical like loud.
Radical like rooted.

Radical like:
“I refuse to let insecurity make my decisions.”

This Sunday, I want you to host. Something. Anything.

Not a production.
Not a perfectly styled evening.

A simple, intentional dinner.

Here’s your Radical Host Menu:

Main: Something steady and generous. These Oven-Baked BBQ Chicken Legs are just the ticket.
Side: Something bright and fresh. Notecard Coleslaw and a heap of Sunshine Casserole are perfect. ((I know I'm breaking my rule!! You can break rules, too, y'all!))
Bread: Something warm to pass. For this menu, you've gotta make Homemade Biscuits.
Dessert: Something that invites lingering. Maybe the biscuits with fruity jam or honey butter are the dessert?? Or, *maybe* you ASK the person you've invited to bring dessert!

And here’s the ritual:

Before your guests arrive, stand in your kitchen for a moment.

Place your hand on the counter.

And say, quietly:

“I am the kind of person who opens my door before I feel ready.”

That sentence changes things.

Inside Sweetpea’s Supper Club, I’ve written a Radical Host Pledge — something you can read, print, and return to when insecurity creeps in.

It’s exclusive to members because this isn’t about consuming content.

It’s about stepping into identity.

April 1st, the first Supper Club Kit drops into inboxes.

An easy menu.
Two meaningful conversation prompts.
A steady rhythm for opening your home.

If you’ve been circling.
If you’ve been waiting.
If you’ve felt something stirring this month…

This is the moment.
👉 Join Sweetpea’s Supper Club before April 1st and receive the first Kit.

And before you close this email?

Send the text.

“Dinner this week?”

You don’t need to be more ready.

You need to be willing.

Open the door anyway.

Happy Wednesday, Friends! After the stage. After the lights. After the applause. I came home. And do you know what didn’t change? The house projects are still there. The world is still loud.My to-do list is still long. Nothing became magically polished. And that’s when I realized something. “Be the Invite” was never about one dinner.Or one stage.Or one brave moment. It’s about something steadier. It’s about Radical Hosting. Not radical like loud.Radical like rooted. Radical like:“I don’t let my...

Well, y'all! I did it! I walked off the stage. And here’s what surprised me. It didn’t feel like an ending. It felt like a beginning. Standing at the Wortham Center — the same place where I once danced as a little girl — I realized something: The stage was never the point. The point is what happens after. 💬 The conversations.📲 The texts sent.🚪 The doors opened.🍽️ The tables set. If Dinner Parties Can Change the World, it won’t be because I said it into a microphone. It will be because you...

Before I step onto the stage this week, I want to tell y'all a story. When I was four years old, I used to host tea parties in my grandmother’s walk-in pantry. (We don't have a picture of this, and I cannot believe we don't!!) I would corral my dolls around a wooden stool. And I would sit there, very seriously, explaining to them how to host a tea party. How to welcome people. How to pour. How to make everyone feel included. Four years old. In a pantry. Using real china. Talking to my mom's old...
