Well, well, well... Look how the turns have tabled...

Hello, Long Lost Sweet Friends!

Did you miss me??

Probably not, y’all! 😜

As lots of things change in our internet world, I’m *trying* to adapt along with it.

If you’re new to my list, Hello! I’m Ashley!

I’ve been creating content on the internet for the last 17 years.

What started as a holistic blog evolved into a recipe blog and is not evolving even more!

This year, I’m changing my blogging strategy.

When I started this “game,” you didn’t depend on what Google and search engines needed — you wrote for the people who enjoyed your content.

We could write a few sentences about the recipe, share the recipe, and get on with life.

I’m sure you noticed over the years that recipe posts turned into novellas about the recipe.

If I’m being honest, that was a decade ago…

The LONG posts you see now are filled with helpful content! While some may tell a story about the recipe, the posts usually are filled with precisely what you need to make the recipe well from the first try.

If you’re irritated that you have to scroll and scroll for the recipe card, I’m hoping to change that.

While it’s not really a safe bet, I’m making my posts much shorter and the recipe card within a couple of scrolls.

The recent posts I’ve added are all about a 2-3 minute read and then the recipe.

Simple tips and tricks for the recipes and a couple of short paragraphs that are intended to be helpful. ((Maybe they will be, maybe not?))

RECENT FAVORITE RECIPES:

Swiss Onion Dip — y’all, this is three ingredients. You can make it the night before, bake it when you need it, and everyone LOVES it.

Tomato Soup Gratin — if you dunk your grilled cheese into your soup… If you love the melted cheese and bread from French Onion Soup…. You are going to LOVE this recipe! Grilled cheese “croutons” top the soup, then a copious amount of cheese is spread overtop. The whole thing gets baked until golden brown and bubbly. Sensational!

Hot Honey Buffalo Chicken Skewers — I’ve made these four times now and keep them in my fridge for a busy week. Now, I’ve got major thoughts about skewers… Not a super big fan. But that’s a post for another day!

Now! You may be wondering what this little email will look like!

Listen, y'all.

I'm not saying I'm going to send an email each week because it's clear I'm not great at schedules. 😂

My hope is I'll do a weekly recap of what I posted that week, my favorite finds, and maybe something else. Maybe not! We'll see where the Lort leads me.

The last time I sent an email, I was living in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. While Asheville is still a mess, it's coming back. It might not feel like it to us Ashevillians as we watch our beloved restaurants shutter their doors, but people are coming back to visit.

So, come visit Asheville!

Cheers, Sweet People!

All right, people, life is weird these days. Anyone else?! (If you're in the WNC area, yes, it's weird.) I'm trying to wrap my head around scrapping my Q4 content plan and doing whatever I'm supposed to be doing. I've gone through my thousands of photos and compiled all the posts I haven't published, thinking that could be a good use of my time?! These Caesar Chicken Wings are worth the minimal effort, and the Caesar dressing recipe is just sensational on its own. I've shared a video for this...

Dear Ones, ((It's taking me days to write this email... I keep not sending it, and you sweet people keep writing in to check on me and my family! Y'all are so dear!)) Many of you know I live and breathe my hometown of Asheville, NC. I was born and raised, and I still live in this beautiful city. Driving out of town, I had tears streaming down my cheeks while I evacuated my darling town. It looks like the worst apocalyptic scene you've ever seen. What you see on the news is nowhere close to...
