๐Ÿซถ Let's Make This Week Easier (Starting Today)

Hi, Sweet Friend!

One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is a week that doesn't feel like we're constantly starting from scratch.

You know those evenings when it's 5:30, everyone's hungry (even if "everyone" is just you!), and suddenly the question is...

"What's for dinner?"

We've all been there.

But here's what I've learned over years of cooking, hosting, and trying to make everyday life feel a little more peaceful:

A little preparation creates a lot of freedom.

I don't meal prep every single meal.

I don't spend my Sundays filling dozens of identical containers.

Instead, I prep ingredients.

  • I wash the lettuce.
  • Mix the dressing.
  • Cook a batch of chicken.
  • Slice the vegetables.
  • Grate the cheese.

Little things that make dinner come together in fifteen minutes instead of forty-five.

That's the kind of margin we're creating this month.

Not perfection.

Just a little head start.

This Week's Meal Plan

Mondayโ€‹
๐Ÿฅ— Big Chopped Salad with BBQ Chicken - that chicken is my go-to in the air fryer!

Tuesdayโ€‹
๐Ÿ— Air Fryer Basket Dinner - if you have a Target or Whole Foods close by, pick up these (new to me!) seed-oil-free Jesse & Ben's French Fries. Plop them into your air fryer along with freezer chicken wings... and dinner is ready in 14 minutes!

Wednesdayโ€‹
๐Ÿฅช Monterey Chicken Sandwiches with fresh fruit.

Thursdayโ€‹
๐ŸŒฎ AF Chicken Snack Wraps - and if we're being honest, I'll be eating the frozen fries again... they're that good, y'all.

Fridayโ€‹
๐Ÿ” Burger Night with Honey Butter BBQ Corn & Firecracker Dip, right from Sweetpea's Supper Club July Dinner Kit!

Weekendโ€‹
๐Ÿงบ Snack board, fresh fruit, and whatever leftovers are calling your name.

Three Things to Make Today

If you've got about an hour this afternoon, I'd start here.

๐Ÿฅ— Mix a Jar of New Ranch

This is one of those recipes that quietly makes everything better.

  • Salads.
  • Wraps.
  • Veggie trays.
  • Burgers.
  • Chicken.

Future You will reach for it all week long.

๐Ÿ— Cook a Batch of Chicken

Whether you're grilling it, air frying it, or baking it, having cooked chicken in the refrigerator is one of my favorite ways to create margin.

This one simple step turns lunches and dinners into something that comes together in minutes.

๐Ÿ… Tomato Salad for Bruschettaโ€‹

Mix it today.

Snack on it this week.

Serve it if someone drops by.

It's one of those recipes that always earns a smile.

Five Tiny Prep Tasks

Before Monday arrives...

โ–ก Wash and dry your lettuce.

โ–ก Slice onions and tomatoes.

โ–ก Wash fresh fruit.

โ–ก Cube cheese for snacks.

โ–ก Fill your favorite pitcher with iced tea or lemon water.

Nothing complicated.

Just little gifts to your future self.

This Week's Little Reminder

Your home doesn't become peaceful because you found the perfect planner.

It becomes peaceful because of tiny decisions repeated over and over again.

  • Wash the lettuce.
  • Fold the napkins.
  • Mix the dip.
  • Light the candle.

One small ritual at a time.

I'm cheering you on as you create a little more margin this week.

From my table to yours,

Ashley

Hi, Sweet Friend! Have you ever noticed that the people who seem to host effortlessly usually aren't working harder than everyone else? They're simply preparing differently. I've been thinking about this phrase a lot lately: Holistic Hosting. To me, it means that hosting isn't an event. It's a lifestyle. It doesn't begin when guests ring the doorbell. It begins on an ordinary Wednesday afternoon when you wash the tablecloth after lunch instead of leaving it in the laundry basket. It begins...

Hi, Sweet Friends! This month, we're creating more margin. If I could choose one feeling for us in July, it would be this: Enough margin to say, "Come over tonight." Not because the house is perfect. Not because we've spent all day cooking. Not because every throw pillow is fluffed. But because we've slowly, intentionally created a life that leaves room for people. That's what I've been thinking about lately. Hosting doesn't begin when guests ring the doorbell. It begins in the tiny, ordinary...

Hey, Sweet Friends! Let's play a little game. Imagine you're standing in the grocery store. You need dinner. Actually, you need several dinners. You're tired. It's hot outside. And the last thing you want to do is start from scratch every night this week. What do you buy? For me, the answer is almost always the same: One rotisserie chicken. Not because it's exciting. Not because it's trendy. But it might be one of the hardest-working ingredients in the grocery store. One chicken can become...
