Hi, Sweet Friends! This month, we're creating more margin. If I could choose one feeling for us in July, it would be this: Enough margin to say, "Come over tonight." Not because the house is perfect. Not because we've spent all day cooking. Not because every throw pillow is fluffed. But because we've slowly, intentionally created a life that leaves room for people. That's what I've been thinking about lately. Hosting doesn't begin when guests ring the doorbell. It begins in the tiny, ordinary rituals that happen all week long. Washing the tablecloth before you need it. Mixing a favorite dip while you're already in the kitchen. Tidying one small corner of your home. Keeping a handful of reliable recipes in your back pocket. Those little moments create something bigger than a clean house or a stocked refrigerator. They create margin. And margin allows us to be fully present. This month, we're going to lean into what I'm calling Holistic Hosting—the idea that caring for our homes, our kitchens, and ourselves isn't about perfection. It's about creating a life that feels calm, welcoming, and ready for connection. We'll start tending our homes like gardens. {I posted on Instagram about this last week!} One shelf. One drawer. One basket. One sticky note at a time. Because every tiny ritual is your home working for Future You—and helping you create more margin for what matters most. Here's what you can expect throughout July: ✨ Ingredient prep and meal planning every Sunday to make your week feel easier—and give you back time. ✨ Holistic Hosting encouragement every Wednesday, along with simple rituals that help Future You say "thank you." ✨ Easy summer recipes, no-cook meals, Air Fryer Basket Dinners, and dependable favorites you'll make again and again. ✨ Gentle reminders that dinner parties really can change the world—especially the simple, ordinary ones. Three Recipes to Make TodayIf you have an hour or two this afternoon, these three recipes will make the rest of your week so much easier—and create a little extra margin for spontaneous moments. 🥣 Firecracker DipMix it today and keep it in the refrigerator for snacks, happy hour, or an impromptu invitation. (I made this last night and added a can of drained corn to it, then mixed it with Fritos for a delicious corn fritos salad!) 🥗 New RanchA jar of homemade ranch instantly upgrades salads, wraps, veggie trays, burgers, and grilled chicken. Future You will reach for it all week long. Plus, in this heat, salads are the go-to. (I prefer mine to be Dippy Salads!) 🌽 Honey Butter BBQ CornMake a batch now and enjoy it alongside burgers, grilled chicken, or store-bought fried chicken. It's one of those side dishes that somehow makes every dinner feel a little more like summer. And, if you've got homegrown corn... slather the honey BBQ butter on your cooked corn cobs! This Week's Tiny Tending ListInstead of trying to overhaul your whole house, choose just a few small things. □ Wash one set of cloth napkins. Tiny rituals. Steady progress. A home that quietly works for you—and creates more margin in your everyday life. I'm so excited to spend July with you. Here's to creating more margin, celebrating ordinary evenings, and gathering around the table a little more often. From my table to yours, Ashley |

Hey, Sweet Friends! Let's play a little game. Imagine you're standing in the grocery store. You need dinner. Actually, you need several dinners. You're tired. It's hot outside. And the last thing you want to do is start from scratch every night this week. What do you buy? For me, the answer is almost always the same: One rotisserie chicken. Not because it's exciting. Not because it's trendy. But it might be one of the hardest-working ingredients in the grocery store. One chicken can become...
Hey, Sweet Friends! Can I confess something?? Some of my favorite dinner party menus are the ones that look wildly impressive but require very little actual cooking. You know the kind. Your guests walk in and immediately say, "Wow, this is beautiful." Meanwhile, you're standing there thinking, "I mostly assembled things." That's exactly the kind of menu we're talking about today. Because one of my favorite hosting philosophies is: Make one. Assemble the rest. Not every gathering requires a...
Hi, Sweet Friends! Today is a special day. (And no... it's not a certain other party...) Eighteen years ago, I hit publish on a little blog called Sweetpea Lifestyle. At the time, I had no idea what I was doing. I certainly didn't have a business plan. I didn't know anything about content strategy, affiliate links, social media algorithms, or email funnels. And honestly, that wasn't a thing 18 years ago! I just loved sharing recipes. And I loved gathering people around a table. Somehow,...
