šŸ‘‰ This is what makes hosting easy

Hi Friend! Happy Easter!

Can I tell you a little secret?

The reason hosting feels easy for some people… isn’t because they’re more talented.

It’s because they’re prepared in quiet ways.

Not in a ā€œstock your entire pantryā€ way.
But in a thoughtful, intentional way.

A hostess pantry is simply this:

Ingredients you keep on hand that can turn into something beautiful… quickly.

Things like:
• A good jar of marinara (So you can make my Boursin Marinara in 2 minutes!)
• Crackers you love
• Olives, nuts, or something briny (Do y'all know how much I love pickles?? These are my current faves... There are also 9 open jars in my fridge of various pickled items.)
• A dip you can whip up without thinking (Did someone call for Mama Leah Dip?? The three-ingredient wonder!)
• A hearty salad for a last-minute dinner (This BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad is my go-to. No, you do not have to make everything from scratch!😘)

It’s not about having everything.

It’s about having enough.

Enough to say yes.
Enough to invite someone in.
Enough to not panic when plans come together quickly.

Because when your kitchen supports you…

Hosting becomes a reflex, not a production. ((I wrote about how hosting is a muscle in a recent Substack!))

This week, instead of trying to overhaul everything, just pick 3 things to keep stocked.

That’s how it starts.

✨ Inside Sweetpea’s Supper Club, I walk you through exactly what I keep on hand + how I use it to build last-minute meals.

But for now?

Just choose ease.

You’re allowed to.

xo,
Ashley

Hi, Sweet Friends! April always feels like a return. The windows open. The light shifts. And suddenly, your home starts asking to be lived in again. ((Anyone else feel this??)) Not perfectly. Not all at once.Just… gently. So let’s begin here: A simple Spring Happy Hour. Nothing complicated. Nothing overwhelming. Just a few easy things to put on the table and a soft invitation to someone you love. Think: • A bright, citrusy cocktail (or something bubbly and non-alcoholic). My favorite since...

All month, we’ve been talking about ā€œBe the Invite.ā€ Not as a slogan. Not as an aesthetic. But as a decision. You don’t wait until the outside projects are done. You don’t wait until you feel more confident. You don’t wait until your house looks like someone else’s. You open the door anyway. That’s Radical Hosting. Not radical like loud.Radical like rooted. Radical like:ā€œI refuse to let insecurity make my decisions.ā€ This Sunday, I want you to host. Something. Anything. Not a production. Not a...

Happy Wednesday, Friends! After the stage. After the lights. After the applause. I came home. And do you know what didn’t change? The house projects are still there. The world is still loud.My to-do list is still long. Nothing became magically polished. And that’s when I realized something. ā€œBe the Inviteā€ was never about one dinner.Or one stage.Or one brave moment. It’s about something steadier. It’s about Radical Hosting. Not radical like loud.Radical like rooted. Radical like:ā€œI don’t let my...
